When I was a kid and even through my teenage years if you got the flu or something that had you throwing up or queasy they would tell your mother to grab a few bottles of Vernor's because the ginger in it helps to settle your stomach.

These days I just make a tea from fresh ginger root or grab a bottle of some strong ass ginger beer.
