Never had it, but I've heard old cats talk about it in the locker room at the gym.
The general consensus was.........if it's not absolutely necessary........don't do it.
Long story short, one old dude said he was about to get it........but when he asked the doctor if he had a choice would he get it himself, and the doctor said no............

Basically, they made it seem like you're better off dealing with the pain.
Steve Kerr is a prime example.
Dude had multiple problems from complications after back surgery.
