The Jonas Brother song "Year 3000" is actually about how indifferent a large portion of the human race is to climate change. I know I know "why the fuck are you listening to the jonas bros?" That song was hot back in 06 on the disney channel you couldn't escape it, it grew on me, that's besides the point, but bear with me here, this is gonna be a long winded post:

The line I feel most strongly supports my claim is found in the hook/chorus of the song:

"I've been to the year 3000
Not much has changed but they lived under water
And your great great great grand daughter
Is doing fine, doing fine"

In the year 3,000 humanity is for some reason living underwater, and has completely abandoned the surface world all together. But the main character brushes it off saying "Not much has changed" before it. He then follows that up by mentioning who I assume to be the listener's 4x great grand daughter and that she's somehow "Doing fine" living underwater......Let that sink in, it reminds me of a common jab in denial of climate change along the lines of "If the climate is getting hotter than why is it snowing in california?"

Throughout the song the jonas bros mention various pop culture changes and similar tech advancements that we currently fantasize about in the present.....but they always go back the to "Not much has changed but they live under water" line.....in fact they close out the song with it, repeating it a total of 4 times in the outro. That can't cannot be a simple coincidence.

11 years later and look at humanity now, the people of the united states have elected a president who believes that climate change is a chinese conspiracy, perhaps the jonas bros had far more insight into the human condition than we realized.

What if that whole theory about the Simpson's "predicting" the future isn't a theory? And the Simpson's aren't the only "prophets"?

Prophets...

Also...that song is a cover
