I can tell this is not going to go well for Carmy regarding the non-negotiables lol. Richie and Carmy going at it, just like old times

If this was weekly and I had to sit with episode 1 for a whole week I’d be pissed, lol. It was beautifully shot but nothing really happened.

And I agree with some takes saying this season got away from the core themes in the first two seasons and focused way too much on the fine dining industry at large. I feel like fine dining is too pretentious and so felt this season was too pretentious as well. If I was a chef I’d probably love it.

That being said, still a good season with stellar acting. I just couldn’t connect the way I did the first two seasons. Those seasons were focused on the relationships, building something together and reaching an impossible goal with flawed people. That was intriguing and inspiring whether you’re a chef or not.

Well said. This is exactly how I feel

This Season was definitely more reflective than hectic and frantic.
Making peace with the past and inner turmoil about how you will be received, recognized and future endeavors. A lot of hard truths were on display. A little lackluster too because I know I was dozing off on episodes 7 and 8. Nice nods to other Top Chef movies and TV shows. I'm still interested in watching another season.

Just knocked out the 3rd and 4th episode...idk how Carmy's way of running a restaurant is going to turn into a success. That back and forth between him and Richie in the 3rd episode was chaotic lol. And watch that be when the newspaper was there to review the place lol

I think its so dope that the actress playing Tina got to have her husband in real life play her husband on the show. I love the way he was holding it down and supported her while she started to feel bad about not doing her part in contributing to the household

Napkins is a beautiful episode and its full circle to the first episode of the season when Carmy sends that text to his brother. Glad Tina got her own episode

It also contextualizes the relationship Mike had with Tina and to his employees in general. Carmy isn't the only one dealing with grief regarding his loss. It makes so much sense why she pushed back so much during Season 1 when they were making changes to The Beef. She was so loyal to Mikey

Episode really hits close to home as a Latino cause my parents had to cut any ambitions they had for themselves like Tina to do everything possible to push my brother and I ahead
