Yeah they traded Indiana their 2026 pick back for the 23rd pick in 2025 (Asa newell) which they eventually traded to Atlanta. 5 days before Haliburton went down with that injury btw.

Pelicans might be cursed for real.

They had a starting center in Turner but they wanted to be cheap since Haliburton was out. Understandable but foh with the revisionist history.

Giving up Turner + mathurin + 5th pick is a fuck up. He got greedy and played with fate. Wasn't worth it to not top 8 protect that pick at least.

I mean not controlling your own draft pick for the next 3 seasons is a tough situation for anyone to be in

In your mind of course. But I can almost guarantee you masai is going to go draft 2 guys he likes, take at least half but probably the whole season to see how kyrie and lively fit in healthy with the roster and after "evaluating" (his go to word) either double down or rebuild/retool around Cooper.

In order I would do

Flemings, Wagler/Brown, Acuff, Lopez

Also how the hell did Lopez come up for you for 6th? That would be another Egor Demin type pick where you would be reaching. I like Lopez between 13th and like 20th

But if you’re picking 6th, most likely clippers are going to take Flemings because defensively he’s the best guard out of this bunch which makes him the best two way player

So you are going to have to choose between Acuff/philon/Wagler/Brown

Out of those 4 Wagler isn’t athletic enough especially considering you drafted an unathletic guy in Egor so since the nets are starving for an actual buzz I would be debating between Acuff and Brown

I really like philon though but idk about him at a spot above 9th tbh

I saw a tweet saying that they had interest in Lopez, and plus he fills a need at power forward. But I’m personally leaning towards Brown. I like his aggressiveness. He’d fit nicely next to Demin in the backcourt.
