A man is facing multiple charges after police said he intentionally drove a Tesla Cybertruck into Grapevine Lake to test the vehicle’s “Wade Mode” feature. The Grapevine Police Department said officers responded to the area near Katie’s Woods Boat Ramp after reports of a vehicle in the water. When officers arrived, they found the Cybertruck partially submerged near the shoreline.

According to police, the driver claimed he drove into the lake "intentionally" to use the Cybertruck's Wade Mode capability.

Police said the vehicle became disabled and began taking on water.

Crews with the Grapevine Fire Department assisted in removing the truck from the lake using a wrecker. No injuries were reported.

The driver, identified as Jimmy Jack McDaniel, faces multiple charges, including operating a vehicle in a closed section of a park, no valid boat registration, and water safety violations, according to police.

I'm surprised he wasn't drunk. Well at least I'm surprised there's no driving under the influence charges.... Cuz I'm sure he was drunk. They just didn't want to completely fuck his life up

You underestimate some people's level of stupidity. They do dumb shit sober

Didn't know you can be charged for that

Lol at "no valid boat registration"
Yeah, I saw that too. I think they were pissed they had to waste time and resources on a person who did it intentionally. They wanted to hit him with any charge they could think of.
