Tekashi arrested by the Feds on RICO charges

I don't think some of y'all are taking everything into account. If he continues to make music, what type will he make? I agree that some of his fans will still rock with him. I think he may have lost at least 60% of them. But the money side is going to be tough. He already lost money by being banned at certain spots even before he went to trial. You think a lot of these bigger places will book him? Naw, because they are gonna think about the security risk, and the possible negativity he will attract. His peers already don't mess with him so I don't think people would want to do features or concerts with him. Producers may not want to work with him anymore so his quality in his music may go down. A good manager might be hard to find because who would want to risk their life for someone who doesn't care about their own? Random people on the street will start making fun of him. Some may even test and provoke him at a higher rate. People that don't have anything to do with gang life. Random death threats by email or social media. Security or not, that is a lot to take. We will see how strong he really is.

That nigga will be fine. Alpo still walking around unscathed signing autographs and taking pictures w/ fans...lol.

This is different because a lot of people view him as infiltrating a gang he shouldn’t have been a part of (Latino) and phugged/embarrassed their set on the world stage. Alpo was never on this level. Don’t nobody know who Alpo is except the streets where he came from.

This is sooooo true. Good post fam/lady

Is Tekashi snitching worse than Drake being found to have writers or Rick Ross being exposed as a CO tho ?

Troy Ave snitched and he's still making music and living. Drake had Quentin Miller penning some of his shit and he's the biggest rapper in the world. I think people watch too much TV. Also most of Tekashi's fans are prolly white so to say he won't sell as much records is nonsense. He'll be fine.

I think you're downplaying the level of snitchery that's happening here. Also most white people hate snitches just as much as everybody else so that argument is kinda simplistic.

Not to mention even if he didn't become the posterboy for rats this guy had a rap shelf life of 3 years max regardless and he used that shit up already.

At best he has one or two failed reality shows and awkward morning show interviews ahead of him and then obscurity.

You talking about some rap ghostwriting shit like it's the same? For real?

The drake ghost writing is not even comparable to this situation. That didn't hurt anyone. The rock Ross thing, he said he did it as a job. He did lose some fans but if he was honest from the jump, it wouldn't have been as bad. Again, no one was hurt in this situation. Still not to bad. Now we can compare the troy ave thing. He hasn't had his day in court yet. He has hinted to testifying but hasn't yet. The jury is still out on how that will go down. But I will say this, it is a little different from 69. Troy ave is up against an enemy. Not a friend or associate. A enemy that tried to take his life. Now I know the dumb ass "street rules" and says not snitching no matter what. But they are not friends and were beefing. So in some people's mind, they don't think that us snitching if you tell on an enemy. 69 did the dirt with his associates and when he got caught, he was about self preservation. Also he was causing so much beef with different artist and other gangs, claiming a fake lifestyle, and put people around him in danger because of his trolling and bad decisions. So If troy ave talks, I think he will be alright. He may lose some fans, but most will remain. 69 on the other hand is different. We really haven't seen anything like this in regards to rap culture. He can do a reality show and book to make money. Oj did. He is gonna lose most of his fans, not all. Really, this all could have an affect of his mental. He may crack.

Bro white people don't give a fuck about snitching. America is obsessed with entertainment and society often excuses our stars for their shortcomings all the time. What I'm saying is people don't really care like that and will continue to buy his music because it's just entertainment. Troy Ave snitched and he's still making music. There are other examples, I use Drake and Ross to contrast how much things have changed to where things that should have ended their careers, only made them stronger and both times we thought the worst because we had never seen anything like it before.

You think white people give a fuck about street politics or rules of the streets ? Most of them aren't even from the hood. Whether you like Tekashi or not, society allowed for him to thrive and he will continue to make music and be fine on his own. Same goes for Jim Jones who was also exposed for being an informant. It's not the 80s or 90s anymore.
troy is making music, but who is listening to the music is the bigger question to me

If he hired 24 hour personal security instead of going the lil, wayne Chris Brown route and be coming a studio blood he wouldn't have been caught up in this situation in the first place. duh

I remember back when Steady B and Cool C were hot rappers from Philly. They each had a few songs I liked. I actually bought Steady B's first 3 albums. Neither one of them was on the level of LL Cool J, Rakim or KRS, but they could rap and had some joints I liked.

So anyway both of their careers took a nosedive so they decided to rob a bank. Steady B was supposed to drive the getaway car and Cool C and another dude named Mark Canty were supposed to rob the bank. Mark Canty was a lookout.

It was botched robbery. Cool C shot and killed a police officer while robbing a bank. That's grounds for the death penalty.

There's only 3 reasons you can put somebody to sleep;

1. Killing/murdering somebody while committing a felony. (like breaking into somebody's house and killing them, or raping somebody and killing them)

2. Treason

3. Espionage

So when it hit the news, Steady B knew he wasn't gonna get away, so he turned himself in. He cooperated with the police and I'm pretty sure he took the witness stand. They caught Mark Canty two weeks later in Maryland. Cool C denied it, plead not guilty, went to trial and got convicted. All three of them have been in jail since 1996.

Steady B got a lifetime sentence
Mark Canty got a lifetime sentence
Cool C got the death penalty (a)because he was the gunman and (b) because he took it to trial and got convicted.

It's pretty clear that Cool C was guilty because there was DNA on the shell casings, video (Cool C is 6'6") plus Steady B's testimony.

There's a law that says if a group of people decide to commit a felony like robbing a bank, if one person shoots somebody, everybody that was involved can get the death penalty.

The reason I bring this up is because it's probably the first time in Hip Hop that some popular artists got involved in serious crime.

In my opinion Steady B should be released. Not on parole but released. He turned himself in, cooperated with police and served 20+ years. When he hits the 25 year mark they should let him go.

I think Mark Canty should stay in jail because he tried to skip town, whereas Steady B turned himself in immediately.

Cool C should get the death penalty. He shot and killed a police officer while robbing a bank.

Edit. I almost forgot

Thank you, also my point. Nobody wants to go to jail and he has surveillance and not only that is clearly unafraid to tell the police because for him, why risk the millions he's got just to "keep it real" to a standard he doesn't even believe nor is he cut from ? It's the same reason why nobody wants to attempt anything on the president, they can get to the president but they can't get away with it and the consequences for them are grand (in Tekashi's case, it's indefinite time in a 6x4).

And his baby mother can cut the shit because as much as she will talk about the streets this and the streets that when them checks come in she's gonna be the first one with her hands out dragging him through the mud in the media for being a "deadbeat".

Unless you talking someone other than the president of the usa

Cut the crap, 69 done out here yo

He ain't never gonna see the peak he had again. Buddy gonna continue to make a mockery of the culture and an ass outta himself and that ain't gonna take him very far at all

The worst part is those ridiculous tattoos.

Once his rap career is over he's going to have to look for a job outside of Hip Hop.

Can you picture Takashi69 at a job interview?

You bring up a good point with him booking a venue, I admit i overlooked that, but i still think he'll be fine. He's gunna get another manager & might change his music style back to that rock rap shit. And the fan base he lost didnt matter because it was just casual listeners from the hood. I say they dont matter because that fan base doesnt buy music and rarely buy tickets. You can say he cant get booked for some hood club appearance but, thats been the case since he was telling everyone to test him and suck his dick.
My guess is hes going to come out, lay low a sec before he sells his story and w/e revised music his management comes up with. Irrelevant rappers are gunna immediately run to social media outraged hes getting more attention than them, cuz they're "real" and we're gunna laugh and make jokes.
Also his baby moms is gunna catch more L's cuz shes a bird. But she gunna blame it all on him.
