Tayboo, Loquacious & AP present: Fall Clothing Essentials

Oh I don't care about brands

Just need a light, medium and light heavy kinda jacket
I'm typically not a brand whore either, but a winter coat is probably the one item of clothing that I actually will spend $$$ on based on brand and materials used...

Can this be achieved without it being a popular brand?

I'm starting to discover a few slept on brands with the quality but not the name recognition

Yea, all of my winter coats are North Face.

I've debated AP about brands for nearly a decade so I won't derail the thread lol but you get what you pay for.
And I'm here to tell you this isn't always the case.

If you are getting stuff that's mass produced, there will be a trade off

Now more niche brands, then you absolutely are getting quality materials and craftsmanship

More times than not you get what you pay for. One of the few instances where you may consistently get better quality at a cheaper spot is a mom and pop restaurant for example.

If they got a good deal, I'm gonna pull the trigger on a North Face mountain jacket on Black Friday.
I looked it up and it's made of gore-tex. I have been looking for a gore-tex jacket but I missed the sales last year. I go skiing. I have a north face and Colombia jacket but it's those waterproof jackets that are sprayed on. I learned my lesson last year when it was raining on the slopes. You have to respray those jackets after time or after washing them.

Gore-tex is real waterproof material.

Yes there are plenty of smaller quality brands out there, but that requires a bit more research to make sure that your getting actual quality. Vintage is another great route for coats if you want save money.

Actually, that jacket is even cheaper on Northface website. Just have to join their loyalty program, which is free. They give you 30% off on full price stuff. Knocks it down to $240.

Shit, I may cop if I dont find a better gore tex jacket at Sun Ski Sports store.

I got this ski jacket. The store only had one gore tex by North Face but I wasnt too fond of thr design. Anyone that is familiar with Ski jackets knows about this brand. Got it on clearance. Last year's model. Did my research and this is just as good as gore tex. It is their own trademark material. 20,000mm waterproof rating, which i was looking for. Mad pockets. Also has a cuff inside the outer cuff that keeps snow from coming in your sleeve. Fits real nice with enough room to layer up Got it for $300, including tax.

Yea when I go to the nfl or nba sites I see starter pull over joints and the varsity jackets. I thought about varsity one but I need a hood.

I always feel like when buying anything g is best to hit the source directly I hate buying through third party because if it messes up it takes longer
