Taboo will be set in 1816, and introduce Hardy’s James as a believed-dead chap who returns to London after a life-changing journey to Africa. He hopes to inherit his father’s shipping empire, but will apparently find his family’s legacy to be something of a poisoned chalice.
The show – destined for the FX network, in America – is yet to announce an official start date. This first trailer has been released, though…

His father married a native yes but the show is pretty good honestly. There's a whole lot more questions with all the characters in general in pertaining to their pasts though. It's intriguing.
