Kendrick has more leeway imo. He's got a catalog of multiple albums, mixtapes, and features. SZA has an album and a couple EPs. She could easily be a Frank Ocean or Sade artist that drops every few years and is a big thing, or she could fall off like a Mya or Amerie.
