Statues W/ Racist Histories Are being Removed Around the Country.Update: VA Supreme Court Rules Charlottesville Can Remove Confederate Statues

still a privilege black people dont have.

can you imagine black people tearing down these statues?

them white boys are bored.

and i still dont buy it.

sorry ....dont mean to rain on your parade.

A lot of young people just want to be a part of something. The anti-racial movement is kinda what's in now, so that's what they are jumping onboard. I wouldn't say all these people are necessarily allies, but at least its becoming clear what to expect from certain people. I mean even if you don't trust the white boy toppling the confederate statue, you can acknowledge that he's different to some degree from the white boy fighting to keep the statue from being toppled.

I agree. I don't care about the statues, but many of the same people pulling the statues down are also taking part in the protests where they are asking for changes to the system.

All that said, you're right, some of them white boys are undoubtedly out there solely for the carnage.

Had no idea Prattville was named after a confederate official
The city is named after Daniel Pratt. He was an industrialist, architect, and a slave owner who insisted on keeping Africans in captivity for economic reasons. He also wanted slaves to remain illiterate, ignorant, and incapable.

He said that shit is effective retroactively. Can that really be done? Can you pass legislation and then hold people accountable for running afoul of that legislation before it even existed?

Don’t waste your energy thinking about it

None of what he said is newly legal or enforceable

He didn’t pass legislation, he tweeted about legislation that was already on the books

He’s just blowing smoke again
