I think there's still an audience for physical media. Hell I was just wishing I could go in the store and buy a CD.

I think what they should've done was gone digital but charge for people who still wanted physical copies or print limited copies to control demand

Physical media is now a niche. Niche businesses are hard to keep afloat. SI has been selling reprints of their covers for nostalgia purposes but not enough to stay in business. They dropped the ball when transitioning to digital media.

I remember the SI cover jinx used to scare people. Emmitt Smith demanded off the cover in the week leading up to the Cowboys second Super Bowl win over the Bills. Teams that SI predicted to win championships went on to crash and burn during the year. That shit was feared lol.
