I loved loved loved Native Son. I think that would make a dope ass movie. Maybe not full feature, but a nice 30 min short film

The four books that made up the Kenyatta series by Donald Goines. Think it would be better as a tv series than movies though. You could really develop the characters.

Also, Sycamore Row by John Grisham. I dunno if its familiar to most people but it was a sequel to "A Time to Kill".

The shootout the cabin would be the shit

Hyena by Rude Jude

HBO bought the rights to it but never followed thru

I just finished reading Hyena and Hummingbird. I read both of them the night i opened them up. Rude Jude is one of the best writers ive read from in a long while. Each and every one of those stories grabbed my attention hardcore. Tons of laughs, but tons of moments where it was really sad and you could feel his pain. I hope he keeps writing, dude has stories for days. I wouldnt even be mad if he started writing stories about other people, you know with as fucked up as his life has been that the people he hangs out with gotta have some wild ass stories too.

The Hyena show is still in development. Its not uncommon for shows to hit a roadblock like this though, hopefully itll get off the ground within the next couple of years.

Hyena was great. The story about the baby bird i think it was gave me feels.

Havent checked out Hummingbird yet. @Lou Cypher is Hummingbird same premise as Hyena? Just random events from his life?

Yeah its exactly like Hyena. Just different stories from different times in his life. Cant decide which one i liked more as both of them were dope AF. I think Hyena was a bit more funny, hummingbird was more introspective and a lot of self reflection. Hyena had a lot of that too, but I recall Hyena having a few more funny stories.

Its a graphic novel, but:

^^this shit. Last i heard it had a TV Show in development by AMC, but that was years ago.

Son of tarzan

Wanted(it was already made as a movie but producers were scared af with deadpool out it could actually be made how it was supposed to)

The Living Blood series. If you never read this series by Tananarive Due, you should check it out. Basically it’s about a race of African Immortals. Ever since I’ve read this series I always thought it would make a great movie or series. There was talk of Blair Underwood playing the lead years ago but you can’t really take him serious in a lead role. Idris Elba would be perfect for it. The first book is called My soul to keep.

I was going to post a review but the review I found spoils the whole book. But yeah check this out.

James Prince memoirs - cast Sterling Brown to play J. Prince and Ryan Coogler as director

The Mother of Black Hollywood: A Memoir by Jenifer Lewis - great book and would make a great biopic

House of M (Marvel graphic novel, hopefully Disney Marvel is reading this lolol) - would be a terrific concept for X-Men on Disney Marvel.

Star Wars: Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith Vol. 1: Imperial Machine by Charles Soule. This should be the next step for Disney, either a Yoda origin story or Dark Vader story. This graphic novel shows the early stages of Darth Vader and how he really took over the galaxy once he became Vader. Disney might have trouble because it'd have to be a dark story which might be too serious for its audience.
Im ordering that J Prince book right now. Been meaning too but for some reason couldnt talk myself into buying a 15 dollar book, but will go spend 25 bucks on food everyday lmfao.
