Stop putting words in my post and address what I actually wrote

Let's start here

Whatchu want me to say for the songs you listed? They were cool for their time period. Ok. And? Lol. Like what else is there to say.

They made some noise when they were released and that's it. I don't know what else there is to say.

This was a thread focused on albums that made an impact on the genre and you're trying to reduce it to songs vs. songs. That doesn't work either though, so now, it seems, we're at an impasse.

What else is there to be said?

Your point, at least how I read it was that CMR has no songs outside of maybe back dat azz up that get played at parties/functions.

I debunked that. Again, I'm not saying the songs you chose were trash. But you reduced an entire run in hip hop to one memorable song by your standards.

Again, this thread was a jab at knock and it looks like he's checked out, but I meant what I said. I think a lot of nostalgia is factored into a lot of these older West coast albums. Knock told y'all to drop some tracks. I would've selected non singles personally but that's me.

I'm not denying DR impact to hip hop but this is another thread where y'all keep trying to minimize the impact of CMR or another southern based label.

So no songs posted?

Got it

You can see yo way out now

Their whole catalog shits on wack ass cash money, you're biased so there's no point in posting songs that you're just going to say is inferior. Cut the bullshit. There's a reason you're the only vote for CMR

You can bounce that stupid, false narrative of downplaying the significance of a southern label the fuck off a wall. Just because I don't feel they compare to DR has nothing to do with where they're from. Smh. That's some bullshit that wasn't implied anywhere by me.

And I said they don't have "iconic" songs aside from the aforementioned. So nah. Nothing was debunked. What you listed are not "iconic" songs.

Serious question because I'm on mobile and I'm not going to go and look at the original post but when you originally responded to knock, did you ever use the word iconic?

I don't recall you doing so

Still no songs posted huh

Yeah, this exchange is done

*shrug* Da hell if I know. I've used the term "iconic" here because of the correlation to impact.

What does it matter though? The Chronic is more "iconic" than Carter 2. Does it mean Dre has better bars? Fuck no. It just means that it changed the complexion of the genre with its sound.

Ok, my rebuttal was gonna be a matter is semantics, so I'll just keep my thoughts to myself

As far as the rest of your post, agreed

Yo ya attitude stinks lately....Nah this was a forgone conclusion before being made...I had to check who was the thread starter and make sure it wasn’t a southerner....Like Water knows his Hip Hop...I’m just tryna figure out his angle

Man I'm just having a convo

Y'all talk about knock, but chitown is on record in several threads constantly shitting on the south

So I don't expect for him or anyone that thinks like him to ever say "damn, I never realized BG was spitting...I slept on this hard". His mind is made up, cool.

I'm not afraid to have the unpopular opinion. I'm on record saying I thought chronic 2001 is overrated and doesn't hold up. I'm not saying that album is trash but I am saying the second half of the album pales in comparison to the first half where ironically, most of the singles came from. Even from a production standpoint. But I get it, it's heralded as an iconic album because of its influence sonically.

At the end of the day, I think a lot of albums that were highly praised when they were originally released have gotten legacy votes to play in the all Star game.

But let's stop pretending that most of the non southern posters CONSTANTLY shit on the south's contribution to hip hop.

I Respect & agree w/this post 100%, we’re supposed to debate ,argue etc. on these albums songs...But the Bias from all posters is making it wack
