Spanking your kids and other physical punishment. How do you feel about it?

Legend has it I got more whipping then all my 7 brothers and sisters combined.
I plan to do it like my dad did it. He took all emotion outta it. I could never mistake my whippings for the old man taking out his frustrations on, which is the case I believe for a lot of people.
It always went like this:
1) He'd call me in his room
2) Ask me if I know what I did wrong (if I said no he'd explain it, I usually knew)
3) Ask me if I think I deserved a whipping (9/10 I said yeah, it was happening regardless lol)
4) Tell me to assume the position (bent over hands on knees) ((Pause))
5) Call out each hit (1....2....3....) usually 3
6) Chill in his room until I was done crying
Always like that. I knew what my punishment was for and it wasn't angry. I look at spankings as adding a little physical pain to reinforce that certain behaviors won't be accepted
