It still feels like this is something else that they were making then decided to call it Kraven at the last min
 
I'm curious. Is this an idea that Sony came up with or did someone pitch them idea of the and either them or Sony decided to use the Karven the Hunter IP?

I think I'd genuinely be interested in this flick if Kraven's name wasn't on it for all the same reason you laid out, especially the ultra violence part.
