In a copy of the book sent to The Independent, the author describes donning a blackface disguise in September 2023 that included a “synthetic Afro wig, colored contact lenses” and copious amounts of Maybelline foundation in the “Mocha” shade.
“Nobody has an experiential barometer with respect to race, for that matter,” he writes. “Nobody except for me.. My barometer is better than anyone else’s.”
He describes his own writing in Seven Shoulders as a “tremendous literary achievement” and a “tremendous achievement in the realm of civic progress.”

every 20 years we all start over again disregarding history and disregarding those who are best educated on history. pay attention to old people!
this dude clearly's in capitalist mode and fucks off history, but he got the money to go forward with the book says a lot about mentality in society.
...but, benefit of the doubt, maybe he mentions the earlier book and this is an update for where white people are on their racism and is there an obvious decline
