They need to at least be signed off on by an elected official and not some lower level judge. Even then there should be limits on how theyre used.
No reason why the president has to sign off on a drone strike but some associate judge on shift at 2 am can sign off on police going guns blazin into homes of american citizens.
Feel the same way about militarization. All it takes is a few crazy muthafuckas armed to the teeth to light up a church or a walmart and people wonder why the police are so weak...so i understand it. But their needs to be an elected official (preferably the mayor or county commisioner) that signs off on it and its severely limited.

If there's one thing this uprising has shown us is that white supremacists are hard headed and won't ever change. How many cops have we seen being brutal at police brutality protests? If you look at the comments on protest related tweets the maga bigots don't care their racism is why we're here. They don't care the entire world is protesting them. They're still openly anti black and scapegoating liberals/antifa
It's a perpetual cycle that won't change in our lifetimes
