Welcome To aBlackWeb

So what really needs to be taught in school?

Management of finances: Importance of credit
Balancing needs and wants
Debt/liabilities and assets: value of the American dollar

The truth about African American history and culture. More than just the basics; George Washington Carver's inventions, Martin Luther King Jr.'s non-violent approach to demolish racism, and Rosa Parks.

I'd say break this down further:

Elementary - basics of math (operations), different cultures, family structures, basic English

Middle School - Alegbraic lessons, Mid-level literature, basic American principles, cultures throughout world history, TRUE stories of civilizations, elements of Science

High school should split off: College prep and trade school.

College prep - Academic math (geometry, calculus, trig and stat), Advanced Literature, Higher level Sciences.

Trade school - Integrated Math, various trade courses (to start in 10th grade),

ALL Middle School classes will include one year of Spanish and one year of either French, Japanese, or Arabic. These would be expanded in High schools at the student's choice.

ALL Freshmen Math courses should include one month of Financial Literacy - learning how to balance a budget, entrepreneurship, etc.

10th grade will include Driver's Ed in-class course, and the driving portion will be administered 60 days prior to the student's 16th birthday.

11th grade will include Sex Ed and Human Physiology.

12th grade should have focus on placement - either school for college prep, or job placement for trade schools.

Age appropriate levels of

Basic Math
Basic English
Basic Arts or Entertainment Class
Basic Science Class

Till high school, then you get the application of those general learnings as it relates to adulting.

Math becomes Finance
English becomes Formal Etiquette
Basic A&E becomes a selective of choice
Basic Science becomes Physical Science

All other curriculum are for education benefits and certifications that you can tout for college if you so choose or your parents choose

If you select to skip college and decide the vocational is your path. Your classes from then on are publically funded vocational learning and just like the military can recruit from highschool to college

Companies can recruit students out of vocational classes. That way there is a built in steady supply of new workers and older workers that choose to leave that path once they think better In adult hood

It's not perfect but it is efficient and self fulfilling

And for those children that are "gifted" there is a whole another school system that focuses on curating and establishing those gifts. Time everyone to realize we ain't all built the same and it has nothing to do with race

To be admited to the gifted school a totally intellectual advance test at the onset of each grade level. Regardless of a families financial situation

And of course private still exist for those that wanna be that way

The basics:

Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic.

Then STEM...........and bring Vocational Training back.

Never should've been taken out to begin with, but I'm starting to understand why it was.

Logic/logical fallacies and Socratic method of communication/debate. Niggas rather be right than listen and build.

Slavery and Reconstruction

Economics starting with how to create a budget and savings in elementary school. We had a school store where we had to save and buy stuff and they did a year long series with this...learned how to balance a checkbook and all that in 4th grade

The political process beyond voting. Field trips to city council meetings.

The Constitution and more importantly your rights and when they are being violated
