It's good for light messes, it might be worth it since you got the little one around...

I have one. It does a good job but that mf will get tangled up in cords and keeps getting stuck under my cabinet. Other than that it does a good job on hardwood floors and for some reason on the carpet in my bedroom. However, it gets stuck on my rug in my living room.
