I’m glad sinners is getting shine as a black person but as pure movie watcher lord this shit is massively overrated

it’s literally the black from dusk til dawn , the storyline was good the action and horror elements where weak af imo movie was a good 7
Definitely different movies. Completely different plots.
. Is dusk till dawn, they went to a vampire bar
In Sinners vampires were trying to get into their party...

I hate lazy comparisons

It’s a lot of smaller comparisons let’s not simplify it to just the bar

1. Two crime brothers one over the top one isn’t

2. Second brother has a for forbidden love interest and dies( hailey steinfield, preachers daughter)

3. Final bar fight they lose close members end up winning in the end

This just 3 off the top of my head

Lmfao yall really saw a different movie because negro tones it is what it is I said what I said the movie has way more similarities than just that bar

two brothers get caught up in something that takes them into a situation where they have to fight for there lives inside a bar this literally describes both movies and you can’t tell which one I’m talking but there not similar gtfoh

Shhh everybody. Ghost talking.

He literally should have been nominated for this movie

I know y'all hate on Spike but Da 5 Bloods was a classic
That's how I know the Sinners hype is all "Black excellence" propaganda because it was mid at best, yet the actors are receiving praise as if they didn't deserve it in better films before this.

I'm still happy for Delroy though as he is one of my favorite actors who instantly makes any film better.

This is where the none artistic audience does not get it. The film is perfectly made and perfectly acted. That does not mean everyone will enjoy watching it . As a person who did some studying of film, that is why it got all those nominations. its like E.T. back int he day which i never liked as a kid. As an adult i get why it got a ton of hype for how it was filmed and all the other techniques used. Same with Blade Runner. I always found it boring until I learned more about film. Sinners really brought its world and characters to life like no other movie last year.

I guess...I only watched it once and nothing in general jumped out as something that made it uniquely great. I like a good film as much as any movie geek, but this felt like a bunch of hype.

Lazy description

Sinners is about 2 brothers coming home and reuniting with old friends and family and throwing a party with stolen liquor. The movie leaned heavy on their old relationships with their former lovers, the musical talent of their cousin and overall was a good and fun movie even without the vampires. The vamps crashed their party from the outside.

Dusk to Dawn is about two bank robbing brothers who took hostages, jumped the border and were trying to lay low at a vampire run strip club. They

To say that these are the same movie is just lazy and ultimately untrue.
