should chrisette michele be uncanceled?

Seeing certain celebs stand next to Hilary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Joe and Kamala……..not get canceled…..but she did? Just proof positive about needing to read the room

I can see it from both sides. On one hand she's a performer paid to perform, but at the same time you need to also have the self respect to not align yourself with someone who's trash like Trump. The funny thing is you know Trump didn't ask for her specifically, it's not like he was sitting in the oval office singing to her lyrics on Lost One and telling his people to get her to perform at the inauguration
 
It's also interesting to see people preach on the one hand to stand on principles and not support people who do or say things that go against your own...but when it happens people complain about being canceled
 
I think the difference with her being cancelled and Kanye and Wayne getting a pass is.........she pretty much let it be known that she was just doing it for a check.


She didn't care about the politics of what she was doing either way.


Kanye and Wayne seemed to really believe in what they were doing.


It didn't seem to be just about the money with them.


So I guess,on some level, people respected them more than they did her since they weren't doing it just for the money.......and she was just doing it for a check.
 
Basically, people gave Kanye a pass because they think he's just crazy.


Wayne got a pass because people think he's ignorant.


Michelle didn't get a pass.........because people think she had enough sense to know better.

She don’t have a rabid fanbase like Kanye that will let goofy shit slide. Her on the other hand don’t so she got cancelled and it stuck.
 
I honestly don't know how much of her issues are because people actually 'cancelled' her...or because her career was hanging on by a thread at the time anyway.

And that's not even a shot at her. I'm legitimately not sure.

She just needs to make a good song/project and people will forget about being mad at her in the first place.

Only artist who’s actually been canceled to the point its no coming back from it is R. Kelly
