Then by your logic Captain America in the MCU should have started out as Bucky Barnes 'cause at the time the first Cap flick was in development, he was Captain America, and had been Cap for a bit, not Steve Rogers.

They started development of the First Avenger in 1997, halted it, and then restarted it in 2003. Bucky became Cap for a short time in 2007. I just told you that Carol was Captain Marvel when they started development of Captain Marvel and she retained that title throughout the movie's development. Those are not comparable situation.

Anyway, we can agree to disagree. Monica as Photon or Spectrum is cool with me. Carol can have Captain Marvel.
