Serious question about tip etiquette concerning taxi cabs

I never really used them, but I have been using them the past couple months here and there cause its my only option......and that meter never stops....are you supposed to tip? I never ask for change like on the cent, lets just say earlier my fair was 12.38 or somthing and I gave him a 20 and asked for a 5 back and he kind of grunted...I never tried uber or things like that, (I havent tried so I dont know to do it yet) is it better or cheaper? Thanks

Don't have a car reply, but if you did and fair and it was under 13 dollars, would you hand the dude the 20 or ask for 5 back like i did? Thats what I been doing
 
I am fucking pissed at pizza hut too, stoner ass deliver guy forgot my pamersean and pepper and was like huhuhuh ha nah bra my bad and tried to dap me up after i already tipped him almost 3 dollars too..........motherfucker wouldnt even look in the car to see if he had some laying on the seat or in his side console........HOW RUDE

Now if it was a 45min drive...then I'd probably let him keep that. But it's just 10min drive...nigga you better gimme back my change, take my "have a nice a nice day", and git da fucc on!

Shit a 45 min cab drive? fuck THAT SHIT, CHEAPER TO RENT A PRIVATE JET.......One time I got to the gas station and seen the cab fare...my goal was to get a case and get home........but after i seen the fare I was like man cmon.....I could have gotten home with him if i just bought a single 25 oz can but fuck that my main mission was getting beer, so I got my case and ended up walking home carrying it tripping in ditches and shit at like 11 pm for a few miles straight out the hospital still wearing my braclet
 
2 bucks. unless you're going on a wild journey in which case you gotta add an extra dollar for each level of danger or distance.

I did forget he said, i'm just warning you gas tank is on e so hurry up in there....i just remembered that....weed really does make you see things from someone elses perspective...now I feel like an asshole...damn no joke

So now it's your problem he drives for a living and is doing it on empty? Wasting gas leaving the car running. Jfc what an ungrateful stupid pos you got a ride from.
 
Use Uber. It's cheaper, you know where the dude is at because of the GPS, you are under less obligation to pay tips, the tips are usually just a couple bucks, and a lot of Uber drivers want to get good ratings so they have gum or even water bottles for folks coming back from the club, which is dope af.

Fight the taxi monopoly
 
cant dispute the "grunt" being rude

but tip when you can....any paid service you get

our drivers pay a $85 stand fee every day, whether they're getting fares or not....so the tips definitely help

the only time cab drivers make decent money with no tips would be holidays and gov't check days because they're constantly running....they can make a couple grand on shit like new years....everybody drunk and friendly lol

Those mfs CAN NOT drive, take the long way to get to shit, and lets you say you're tryna pay with a card, that's damn near a fight.
