whether the planets in our own galaxy or the closest galaxy.
and when the signal comes back.......we would be able to decipher it.

it would seem impossible with our understanding of how things work.

we dont know what we dont know.
 
in order for radio signals to be coming from any form of life, they would have had to be sent out millions of years before humans even popped up on the planet....


whatever radio signals we're getting are already too old to be coming form anything still alive.... unless that species lives for multiple millennia..which in that point they're so far beyond us in shit it's crazy

There was something said that if you could view our planet from the nearest solar system, and see at ground level. You'd see dinosaurs, so imagine beings that see that. Knows that its because of the time differential, and know that at this point in our civilization if you calculate correctly. The planet should have the ability to intercept radio signals. That's a vastly superior civilization.
 
Every 16 days is pretty specific, which means it’s fixed. So it’s some sort of rotation or some type of unknown energy being given off by some unknown event (super nova-like).

I doubt it’s an actual radio signal from an intelligent species.
