WASHINGTON (WJLA) - A fight over whether or not actress Halle Berry played singer Aretha Franklin in a movie turned violent Thursday, ending with a man getting shot in Suffolk, Virginia, shortly after the "Queen of Soul" passed away, a witness tolda local news station.
WTKR News 3 reports the shooting happened in the 300 block of East Washington Street and the man was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
In an upcoming biopic, Jennifer Hudson will play the role of Franklin, although originally, Franklin had expressed her wish for Berry to star in it. Berry was concerned she couldn't sing well enough to take on the role, E News reports.
