Lowkey i wonder why Boston rap scene isnt more known. Being a major city. I visited like 2007. Radio for the black stations played the same 5 damn songs.

You hit the nail on the head.

In Boston circa 95-03 people hated on Biggie, Puffy, Jay Z and anything commercial.

People in Boston would talk about Wu Tang, Rawkus and how they were the superior movements.

But they didn't follow Wu Tang nor Rawkus's model. If you think about it, all the Wu Tang albums had a few hit singles like Bring The Pain, C.r.e.a.m., Shimmy Shimmy Ya, Ice Cream, Heaven or Hell, etc. Rawkus had Mos Def, Talib Kweli and, well, Black Star. They put out a compilation of their greatest songs and they were all hot
