I don't think it really hurt his career. He's kind of just a typecasting. Not to say it was a good or bad performance but all of his characters are the eccentric type IMO. I mean he's still doing that too

Nah that role fucked him up. Should have never took it. Not to say he would have exceeded where he was but he was on a pretty good trajectory up until lex Luther. That was supposed to be a breakthrough role but it didn't land at all. Been typecast ever since.
