Residential Hero of the Black Weirdos
“I think that was a mistake”
50 Cent has said that he "regrets" hanging upside down during his 2022 Super Bowl performance, which has since been widely memed.
The surprise 2022 performance caused a stir online after the rapper joined the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige on stage during the halftime show at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
During the performance, 50 Cent appeared upside down on stage to perform the 2003 classic ‘In Da Club’ in an ode to the original music video.

Speaking to USA Today, the 47-year-old rapper said that his upside down performance “was a mistake”. “Everybody else walked in regular, the songs still went over and they got the trophy, too,” he explained.
“They all won an EMMY. They got the same thing I got and I had to put myself upside down,” he said, calling it a “high risk, high reward” situation.
50 Cent also added that he would have been made fun of more had he fallen, and wishes that someone intervened before the Super Bowl concert went ahead.

After the performance, 50 Cent joked that the New York Post were “teasing” him by running a story on the show, poking fun at the rapper. “They’re just teasing me because they know I can drop the weight. That’s why I laugh with them,” he said.
The rapper is due to embark on an anniversary tour of his debut studio album ‘Get Rich Or Die Tryin’’, which originally landed on Interscope Records in February 2003.
The 20th-anniversary tour, The Final Lap, kicks off in July in North America and concludes in late November in the UK after a six-week stint in Europe. The rapper will be joined by Busta Rhymes and Jeremih throughout the tour.
