Old Generation vs New Generation

I see what 21 savage is saying tho. People that are older romanticize the past we all do this to some level. When 21 savage gets 40 he might complain about the younger generation. Its just what older people do. I think this generation gap thing is overrated.

And this is partially why this new generation is trash.

That's like me being an artist and saying "who df is picasso". You can't be in a profession and not know shit about it. Half of these niggas can barely speak english.
Lol, bruh I could see if this was pac, biggie, jay, nas, rakim, etc. What has pete rock done to significantly change hip hop?

Dude is not a goat, I wouldn't blame myself or another young cat for glossing over him.

Again, if you're in a field you gotta do your research. Pete Rock is a legend, but let's say he's not, these niggas have dissed pac, nas, big etc too lol and have said they don't know any of their music. Most of these new niggas are idiots , let's just call a spade a spade. It shows in the music, cats that really know their hiphop history like Kendrick, Cole and Drake have long lasting career, these lil fuck boy niggas be one song and done.

So dude produced a handful of good songs and now he's a legend, with infallible opinions?

Come on b, dude produced some classics, but let's not get carried away. I'm finding it hard to see how hip hop would be any different if dude decided to become a lawyer or something lol.

Here's another example of no respect for the craft or forefathers. These are the niggas who put them in the position to make money. I already broke it down in this post:

"Niggas keep talkin' 'bout me

Always calling me crazy

Fuck them "OG" niggas

They stuck in the 80's"

Point is, mfs been dissing old heads for years, why?

50's top 5: KRS1 (80s nigga) , Rakim (80s nigga) lol , Pac, Big, Nas

That was his gimmick fam lol his first big song was "How to Rob" dissing pretty much every rapper who ever lived lol But off record he would always give props.

i dont see how you can ever in your life pick up a basketball, and NOT know who michael jeffrey jordan is.

You may not know James Naismith is credited for creating basketball, but you know MJ

but the sad thing is, this generation of kids are more familiar with his shoes vs his talent on the court...sad

Knew some young nigga was gonna be in here talking reckless and stupid

To OP, I find Pete and 21 (21) to be correct

The problem is we tend to generalize everything. Pete should have named names. 21 might not have been so inclined to respond had he not felt disrespected
