Official 2019-2020 NBA Thread

Players would only be hurting themselves in the short and long run.

I get it though. They need to be doing things instead of just talking though

Im all for social reform. And I support players if they dont want to play due to systematic racism.

I really dont understand how not playing basketball will help with social reform. Only thing I can think of is players not wanting to do somehing that can cause a distraction on whats happening.

Either way im gonna support the players not playing, especially if its in support of whats going on.

Orlando has seen a spike in Covid 19 cases, that bubble shit not gonna work because cooks and hotel staff will be moving in and out of the bubble. Don't see how this will work the way they think it will

All this shit feels rushed af. Idk. I mean, I wouldn't mind seeing it return but people already talking about putting asterisks on a winner and shit, plus it seems like no one in the players association is on the same page

I honestly don't understand anything Kyrie is saying
Kyrie basically saying in light of recent events he feels that there is more of a need to focus on how black people are treated in this country than trying to get this Orlando bubble shit to work.

also:

In recent days, Irving has been one of the prominent player voices tapping into the hearts, minds and ambitions of his peers in the wake of George Floyd's death in police custody. Players are discussing everything now -- from the limitations of freedom in the proposed bubble, the value of the remaining season for many teams and players, the risk of sickness and injury, and yes, the pain, anguish and determination of communities throughout the country on the issues of police brutality and racial inequality.

While many players are arguing that these discussions would benefit from the global stage a resumption of play would offer, with the eyes of the world turning to Orlando, the argument hasn't been so simple for some players.

"Once we start playing basketball again, the news will turn from systemic racism to who did what in the game last night. It's a crucial time for us to be able to play and blend that and impact what's happening in our communities," one widely respected NBA player told ESPN. "We are asking ourselves, 'Where and how can we make the biggest impact?' Mental health is part of the discussion too, and how we handle all of that in a bubble."

Lebron is saying both can be done

Donovan Mitchell is saying to not play that long and then to do this shit again I’m scared of injury and especially when his contract extension is coming up

Mo bamba saying they ain’t even ask all the players about if they wanted to play. Namely the younger players
