The Lakers are the Lakers, they weren’t ever really dysfunctional they just had a few trash seasons. The Clippers have been one of the best teams in the league for a decade. The Nets turned things around quickly after looking hopeless.

Word. I guess I should have mentioned dont be a laughing stock in my original post. The Nets did great in turning things around, not taking anything away, and this isnt even a shot at yall, just more of a general analysis.

I dont see the whole culture thing when the coach and half the players that built that culture are going to be gone before KD and Kyie play a single game together.

On the other hand you have Toronto and the Bucks who have a real culture, the Bucks even have a top 3 player and cant attract a star.

If Im wrong im wrong, but I'm not really seeing the culture thing.

The culture started with Sean Marks, not Atkinson. But i mean, i agree with your sentiment in general. Big markets still have value...

The Nets sacrificed that the minute they signed Kyrie and KD. If they stood pat and became a contender with the young guys like Russell, LeVert etc then that would be one thing.

Too much to copy & paste but long story short, it was not irving or durant but rather deandre that had the biggest gripe with kenny. But it wasn’t only him, and it wasn’t only the new players. After 2 intense locker room meetings, it was clear Kenny was on his way out and he was on some “fuck that i’m going out on my own terms”. So when Marks sat down with Kenny, he said if you are going to fire me in the offseason just let me go now.

He was done. We are passed the development stage. We need a coach that will be capable to make the in-game adjustments necessary to win a chip.
