Its a bit different. With Embiid there wasnt any other rookie who was actually having a great rookie season. Brogdan won it by default.

This year though even though Zion is clearly the best rookie, Ja been great all season.

I need the Pelicans to make the playoffs cause thats the only chance Zion has of getting ROY and I get paid.

Yeah I know but he can only play in 37 I believe so I’m saying/asking this has to be the same as the Embiid situation right? Like he has no chance of winning it?

Zions numbers and impact has been even greater than Embiid.

The difference here though is the 8th seed. If Zion gets the Pelicans to the 8th and kick Ja out the 8th seed, I think he has to win.

That would mean 37 games of zion had a greater impact for the team than the 75+ games of Ja.

If Zion doesnt make the playoffs he can average 30 the rest of the way and has no chance imo

But I feel like just off the strength of what they did to embiid that wouldn’t be fair to him if they gave Zion ROY

I guess but I don’t think that’s fair since the pelicans making the playoffs wouldn’t solely be because of Zion

so let’s say Zion plays in 25 games and they make it...that’s ROY?

he’s been holding it down the entire year it’s not really fair to have a guy play less than half the year win it

he didn’t even have to sustain and endure the whole season like Ja did

Ja has to run the offense also
