Fred is 26 CP is 35. Fred can give y’all long term production. But CP3 can provide some stability in the short term. I wouldn’t wanna pay Fred that much either.

Fred cant give us nothing but an inefficient 17 ppg. On a good team with a ton of pieces, thats good. On the Knicks, thats useless.
Plus Fred is a shoot first pg. The Knicks are trying to develop young players and need a flood general to make it easy for them.
CP3 isnt a great pick up. Im not asking for them to get cp3. Just saying, there are rumors about cp3 and freddy, and from those 2, ill take cp3, who only has a 2 year contract, and will set up the young guys and still be effective.
Freddy is a really good player on a good team. On a bad team, hes a chucker that doesnt move the needle

We need players that can be somewhat effective but also help young guys develop. Because were never gonna get a player in free agency.
Fred will be like Randle on the Knicks. Much better than him, but a mfer who will shoot alot and not let young players develop.

We aint competing any time soon, and by the time these young players are actually developed into decent pieces his contract comes off the books.
I really dont care bout getting CP3. I just know we need that floor general/offense initiator/coach on the floor type player.
Seeing RJ running point last year was terrible. the times when the offense was lost and no one knew what to do was terrible.
The only time the Knicks looked like a basketball team last season was when elfrid payton had the ball in his hands and had to make decisions. Shit was disgusting.
