Because they created that team. Think about it. Other than the years that Mark Jackson was the coach at Golden State, they’ve called the finals since like 2007. Breen was doing NBA lower tier games and even WNBA games for NBC at one point and they went with him as the main announcer in 2006. That’s ESPN/ABCs creation and I see no reason to end it

Detroit is gonna get the number 1 pick ,they don't have any Stars. My theory is the top picks in the

draft are fixed,the league tries to balance the talent so the lower tier teams have at least a chance to

draft a "star" player. Last year was all I needed to see,there's no way Zion should be a Pelican but if

they didn't get him that franchise probably goes under. So the number 1 pick is probably going to the

franchise that has the least "star" talent, Detroit or Charlotte. Just a theory...
