Official 2019-2020 NBA Thread

Why would there be a need for the play in if there’s 82 games to decide the seeding? I like the idea but isn’t this what the regular season is for?
Look brah

I'm getting tired of niggas wanting things to go back to the old days of like 12 teams and shit. Every year some cornball or a collective group talks about contracting teams. That's not going to happen

So since that isn't going to happen and the NBA keeps trying to message that all 30 teams matter, they're going to have to get creative in order to make that be a thing. Whether they do some leagues like the premiere soccer clubs or something, you're going to have to give every fanbase a reason to cheer or look forward to something every year

7th and 8th seeds really that important to be complaining about?

Play ins would be the only reason I care about em tbh
I'm too lazy to look but what was the gap of games in the east from 8th-12th? Was it significant?

I'm sure those teams would've liked something to play for other than draft positioning.

At one point in the bubble, because of losses and percentage points, didn't Charlotte, who hadn't played a game since the shutdown and weren't invited to Orlando have a better record than the wizards?

The list of NBA bubble teams consists of the 16 teams that were in the playoffs based on NBA standings when the season was suspended in March, plus the six teams that were six games or fewer behind the eighth seed in their respective conferences.[/QUOTE]

You just wanna make change just to make change.

It doesn’t make the regular season better or the playoffs better
You still thinking small

If we know there are literally maybe 6-8 teams a year with a legitimate shot, you gotta put a different color on the package, call it something else

Sell the illusion everyone has a chance at winning something.

There's a reason the same few teams have either won the title every year or at the very least competed for it.

It's literally a win win for die hard fans and especially casuals

Portland was the 8th seed bcuz of injuries. They are better than their record. They were saved by the play in-game. You can have all the play in games you want for both leagues but any team 8th seed or lower has no fucking chance to win a ring. Only casuals think they do. They might win a game or two in a series but they are just delaying the inevitable. The same teams keep winning or stay competitive bcuz they have the best players and coaches and organizations. It's been that way since they were hoopin in Chuck Taylors. Teams have 82 games to figure shit out. You either make the playoffs or you get ready for the lottery.
