Once the dog tried to escape, they stop shocking the dog. The other dogs saw this and while being shocked tried to escape, and the collars would not stop shocking them.
Eventually, the dogs realized that even though other dogs did something to stop the shock. There was nothing they could do, eventually they stop trying to escape the collars at all. And accepted that there was nothing they can do.
