WWE Reveals Format For Interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament

With NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin stuck in the UK due to travel restrictions from the coronavirus pandemic, it was announced a tournament will be held to crown an Interim NXT Cruiserweight Champion.
As seen below, WWE has announced a round robin format for the tournament, which will kick off on this Wednesday's NXT. The eight entrants will be announced tomorrow.

- Eight Superstars will be split into two groups of four.

- Superstars will compete against each of the three other members of their group.
- The Superstar with the best record in each group will advance to the championship match.
- Any ties will be broken by head-to-head record.
- The winner of Group A will face the winner of Group B to determine the new Interim NXT Cruiserweight Champion.
The full groups will be revealed tomorrow on WWE.com and WWE's social media platforms, so check back here for more information, and be sure to watch the start of the tournament on NXT, this Wednesday at 8/7 C on USA Network

Is theres set up the same way? i think its 1 loss and you out in the TNT tourny but this right here they split into two groups and everyone faces everyone eventually

w/ the two members that have the best records going head to head in the final

from what I read its basically the G1 format

Im saying tournament for a title to fill tv space for quarantine.

Im curious to see who all in it

im thinking Austin theory, Cameron Grimes and Swerve got spots probably one or 2 nxt uk guys and maybe Garza. I dnt think Lio has been involved in any of the recordings so he might be ruled out, so Gulak and a couple other 205 guys will probably finish it off. Daniel Bryan being in it would be a nice surprise since theyve been mixing things up lately. (Highly doubt it happens but still)

On today's edition of WWE's The Bump, William Regal announced that Matt Riddle will have to choose a substitute partner for Pete Dunne in order to defend the WWE NXT Tag Team Championship going forward "until further notice."

Riddle and that partner will defend the NXT Tag Team titles tonight against The Undisputed Era.
