All Elite Wrestling Is Reportedly A ‘Taboo Subject’ Within New Japan Pro Wrestling

All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling have no intentions to work together in the future.

Following the departure of Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Cody, the relationship between the two promotions have been “fractured” according to the latest report from Dave Meltzer at Wrestling Observer Radio.

“The relationship is fractured, broken” Meltzer stated. “I hope it’s fixed, for the good of the industry, and for the good of everyone involved.” Meltzer explained how the subject of AEW is something that a “taboo” at New Japan Pro Wrestling.

“They do things a certain way, and there is subjects that are taboo, and right now for everyone at New Japan Pro Wrestling, Kenny Omega is a taboo subject, AEW is a taboo subject, they are not supposed to talk about it, and they all know they are not supposed to talk about it”

Three of All Elite Wrestling’s top performers, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, and Jon Moxley all have the ability to work for New Japan, but no working relationship is scheduled anytime soon.

New Japan Pro Wrestling’s General Manager Michael Craven released a statement to Sports Illustrated in May, explaining the company has no ill will towards AEW, but has no intentions to work with them.

“New Japan and Jon Moxley came to terms on an agreement some time ago, completely independently of All Elite. Our understanding is that he is free to wrestle in Japan. We wish AEW well, but have no working relationship as of now

Jon Moxley stated in a recent appearance on the Store Horsemen Podcast that AEW had no influence on him not working New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Climax, and he simply was booked for another engagement, despite reports stating AEW blocked him from performing.

NJPW Announces East Coast “Fighting Spirit Unleashed” Events


NJPW will return to the United States at the end of the Summer for three “Fighting Spirit Unleashed” events on the East Coast.



The announcement was made during the G1 Climax 29 kickoff show in Dallas.

The “Fighting Spirit Unleashed” events are as follows:

  • September 27 – Lowell, MA; Lowell Memorial Auditorum
  • September 28 – New York, NY ; Hammerstein Ballroom
  • September 29 – Philadelphia, PA; 2300 Arena
Tiger Hattori will begin his retirement countdown during the Hammerstein Ballroom show and the referee promised all of NJPW’s biggest stars will be in attendance.

Tickets to the events go on sale July 26.

PWinsider reports that Impact was reportedly hoping to be able to announce a new TV deal next week, but as of yesterday, nothing has been finalized. Impact's weekly show is currently being shown on Twitch and the Pursuit Channel.

FITE Network has been awarded the exclusive worldwide distribution rights to stream AAA's upcoming events in New York and Los Angeles this fall on a pay-per-view basis. The first event, AAA Invading NY, will take place live from Madison Square Garden at 6pm ET on September 15th.

"The night of September 15 is very important for all Mexicans since it is the eve of Independence Day in Mexico, but this date is also recognized in the U.S. as the beginning of the Hispanic Heritage Month," said Dorian Roldan, General Director of Wrestling AAA Worldwide. "We are excited to be working with FITE, and to have the opportunity to share our culture with their fan community through these two amazing shows."

The second event, AAA Invading LA, will take place on October 13 at 9pm ET at The Forum in Los Angeles. Fans will be able to order both shows on FITE, with options to watch in English and Spanish languages commentary. Integrated Sports Media will distribute Lucha Libre AAA live in the United States on cable and satellite PPV via iNDEMAND, Vubiquity, DIRECTV and DISH for a suggested retail price of only $29.95.

Joe Hendry is no longer a free agent.

Hendry announced today that he's signed with ROH. He posted a video revealing the news, with Hendry ending his promo by saying he's coming to ROH and is about to become a World Champion.

Hendry has previously wrestled on ROH shows in the United Kingdom in 2016 and 2018.

In February, Hendry announced that he was officially a free agent. He was with Impact last year and was involved in a storyline with Grado and Katarina Waters during his time in the company.

At Shug's Hoose Party 6 night one last month, Hendry's ICW career was on the line in a match that he lost to Leyton Buzzard.

Hendry is from Edinburgh, Scotland. ROH is coming to the UK in October for their Honor United tour, which has stops at York Hall in London, England (Friday, October 25), the Newport Centre in Newport, Wales (Saturday, October 26), and Bolton Whites Hotel in Bolton, England (Sunday, October 27).
