He really was proud to be where he from. He was putting positivity in Crenshaw. As an outsider I only hear the negative things about that area. His ending may have been a negative outcome, but I don't believe he would change still being apart of that community. I just hope the next generation is inspired more by how he lived his life than how it ended. Two people made their decisions, Nip and the coward who killed him. Everyone else has to choose who they want to be and what they are remembered for.
