Nicki Minaj's boyfriend arrested for not registering as a sex offender

always giving rapist and abusers the benefit of the doubt

:tuh:

How about just giving people the benefit of the doubt.

I get it... your past is flawless and you look down on the plebians with checkered pasts so you can't understand this way of thinking, but not everyone is so quick to throw everyone away, especially for something they did as a child.

I've long since forgiven the chicks and women that sexually abused me when I was a child so, you know, fuck off and go play in traffic.

restorative justice (forgiving ppl for their unpleasent histories) only works if someone has undergone and taken extensive measures to change.

its evident he has not.

has he recently done anything similar to what he did 25 years ago? Serious question 'cause I don't really follow-up on Nicki or anyone connected to her.

Nicki Minaj's Husband Gets One Sex Case DISMISSED, But Is Still Facing Federal Charges

Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, was given some good news today after charges against him were dropped for not registering as a sex offender when he moved to California. The only problem is he is still facing federal charges for the exact same thing.

According to the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, charges against Petty have been dismissed. We're told a hearing was held in L.A. court today, and prosecutors told a judge they were dropping the case against him.

But, he is not out of the woods yet...

As a victim of sexual abuse I have very, very little empathy or respect for a sex offender.,

However, it's possible that a situation could be a he said/she said and the "he" doesn't have money for a lawyer, gets a public defendant, and pleads guilty.

Mind you, I'm a victim of abuse.

I think a person should get a mulligan in the case of a he said/she said situation. Give him probation for a year and as long as he stays out of trouble, have the charge expunged from his record. That is, if it's a he said/she said situation.

But if it's the same person and he gets caught up in a similar sexual offense in the future, I say - castrate him, put him on a cruise ship or an airplane and tell him, "you can go anywhere on Earth but you're not welcome in America". That's called Banishment. You deport immigrants, but if it's a citizen you banish him.

Only problem I have here is hip hop related outlets reporting on this story even though it has absolutely nothing to do with the music or culture of hip hop.

They're presenting it to the hip hop community just because it's Nicki's husband and that isn't fair to her. I'd expect this from local news stations and blogs but it shouldn't be coming from Vlad, Hot97, or breakfast club who thinks they found a loophole by talking about Wendy Williams' comments about it.

This ain't like Pac getting shot or Jay cheating on Beyonce or Meek getting arrested. Nicki's husband isn't an artist and his dilemma hasn't been addressed in music.

Hip hop media has failed.

With Nicki being one of the most popular/successful female rappers ever and with dude being her husband, I believe it comes with the territory..

I'm not debating celebrity culture.

I'm speaking on journalistic and cultural integrity within Hip Hop.

The fact is, this is being treated like a gossip headline of the week and no sincere dialogue is being created around

1. Rape
2. The sexual prowess of children
3. Protecting children
4. Rehabilitation after conviction
5. Choosing a suitable mate

This is all "look yall... Nicki married a rapist". Which does nothing for anyone except those who need someone to grandstand against as if we all don't have questionable shit in our own private life. We ARE discussing Nicki's private life and the fact that she's a public figure does not change that.

I’m just trying to figure out did she want a nogga she could control or a nigga who won’t judge her. How you famous and you marry a regular sex offender like what is wrong with you

She went from Meek to THIS nigga? lol I thought it was all about upgrading. Son must put some of that "get right" on her & she dickmatized. Just a hypothesis.
