Read a lot about it. I think the biggest issue was Netflix poster.

So it's about what considered as empowerment and feminity the director is from Senegal and is Muslim to the west that culture is oppressive to women. she moves to France see social media and women are claiming their empowerment by twerking claiming their bodies they can wear what they want etc. So my understanding the film is asking what is the middle ground of oppression and influence to preteens. It's supposed to hold a mirror up to society and ask if this is what we consider empowerment and equality
