U got man.. First Take & Screaming A has more power over the NBA ratings.. Then the fact that these NBA teams basically all play the same style of play.. That best teams in the NBA have OKC & Cleveland.. And yes Cade & Detroit are a great but has NBA at large promoted Cade hard since he’s been in NBA nor does NBA promote the history of Pistons in general to try to get fans outside Detroit/Michigan to care about what a great story the Pistons & Cade are…
If you’ve ever been in the NBA thread you will see a bunch of people (including myself) who have been critical of LeBron, but agree the media coverage of the league has been bad.Ok, what's your point? Yes, the fact that Lebron of all people would take that stance comes off as whining to me given that he's got a propaganda team that would make most politicians blush working overtime to make sure that he's constantly praised across all media outlets. As I pointed out, the face of the league has always been subject to harsh criticism. Lebron is the first in that position that I've ever heard make a comment like this.
lol Most of the people that agree that the criticisms have gone too far are Lebron supporters. It's not at all something that's generally agreed on. In fact, the only people I see agree with the take are Lebron supporters.
I agree with this.

The media even bringing up who is the face of the league is just weird anyway. If the media and the league would do their job and promote interesting, exciting , and most importantly winning players the fans will gravitate to it. Instead of letting this shit happen some what organic they are trying to openly force feed players that folks aren’t interested in or are not winning games.
I have a question. I’m not trying to be funny and I’m asking to get a serious answer.I full agree with you that the majority of sports media is shitty now. I don't even watch ESPN anymore. It's not the reason a lot of people don't like the NBA though. That's a stupid narrative.

I wouldn't consider myself a die hard by any means but I'm slightly above casual and I'm just not interested in national opinions about any team
Most of the grunt work is gonna be done by local bloggers who follow the teams that pay for their own press credentials. They actually give a shit
These national outlets rely on sensationalism. Zion was playing at an elite level at various points in his career prior to injuries but the convo was about him being fat and wanting out of new Orleans. No actual analysis at all
I'll see something for like a blip but my main critique is how they've covered him as a whole during his careerZion has been balling on limited minutes. Ain't seen one story about it on a national level.

besides entertainment what purpose does the media serve for any entity?
you admit that the coverage has changed and the way you put it, I can guess (and forgive me if i'm wrong) you feel things haven't changed for the better.... lmaoProviding objective information.
Sports media wasn't always 24 hours of people giving biased and something paid opinions. There was a time when ESPN just showed sports events and gave updates on sports news. There were some analysis here and there that involved opinions, but it wasn't like nowadays where 70% of the program is niggas just ranting and saying the most biased bullshit you've ever heard.

I stated earlier in this thread that the media can heavily influence casual viewers because they are labeled as experts and the casual viewer who doesn't have time to really see what is actually going on will lean more into these pundits talking points because they are the trusted (and supposedly knowledgeable) source.
looking at who we have in the highest office in the country this stuff doesn't just cause issues in sports either.
