I was watching NBA tv this morning and something hit me. Kyle Lowry might be the realest nigga in the league. He stopped speaking to his own GM after he snakely traded his best friend. But then he forgave him as time went on. He paused a finals game to check a racist white warriors owner who pushed him. He told his home fans to stop cheering for KDs injury. On top of wifing and reproducing with a black woman. Lowry is a rare breed. He deserves that ring

Knicks young core>Nets,

Alonzo Trier(shot 50% as the only player on floor who could consistently get own shot as a rookie. Capable defender. Don’t want him running the team but super interested in how his game develops

Ntilikina(excellent individual and team defender, high IQ, knows how to organize the team and make sure guys touch the ball. Puts the ball in his scorers hands. Balance for him is learning when to be aggressive and make stuff happen on the offensive side. Frank could take the starting PG spot anytime he wants and maybe that’s why Fiz was playing with him because he was clearly better than guys ahead of him

Mitchell Robinson(something snapped the day De’Andre Jordan got there, was consistently impacting the game and single handily anchoring the defense and keeping them in games, decent footwork, fast, long and cover ground fast. Good at going straight up...just a young beast, huge lob threat and ain’t even shown what else he can do on that end yet. This is their best player)

RJ Barrett(remains to be seen, I think he can be starter, potential all star 2 guard, don’t see a franchise player)

Kevin Knox(Offensive side is mature, his growth depends on weight room and between the ears, defense- a mess. Only Frank would consistently look for him on offense and run stuff for him. Rest of guards had trouble understanding he was the superior offensive player and he would drift in games

Dotson (ok ind defender and good team defender when he’s engaged and a sniper. Started getting more comfortable off the dribble at end of season and initiating

DSJ(Great athlete. Think he projects as a guard off the bench to change the pace. Honestly, I’d flip him again. I don’t like point guards who best skill is leaping) lowkey think his value lower than Frank’s quiet as kept

Fizdale will be better imo but he wasn’t a good gameday coach this year. He wasted game minutes on guys who shouldn’t have been on the court when your core team make up is all 1-2 yr guys. There was no on court direction. No solid vets until Jordan got there

Knicks are in much better space than Heat for comparisons sake with or w/o free agent. Those young guys will show even more next year and they won’t have a issue getting somebody to come lead them. I expect Fizdale to also take the next step as a coach

Only 2 of those players (DSJ and Robinson) and to a lesser extent Trier, were a positive for the Knicks consistently last season.

Just to put it in perspective though, hard for any player to be a positive when they are really young and playing on the youngest team in the league.

Potential wise the Knicks young core got a lot, especially Knox, RJ and Robinson. Its only potential though. Hopefully they all continue taking steps forward.

Oh no doubt. I like Knox, I was personally rooting for Mudiay.
