Hey guys, I’m here to start a thread series that focuses on the players who came into the league with expectations and didn’t really pan out for whatever reason and players who were drafted at really high position and that player hasn’t amounted to anything

Today we are focusing on:

Jabari Parker

b71a1470-b675-11ea-b2dc-9c9dcc2b8a0f

  • Drafted With The 2nd Pick in the 2014 NBA Draft
  • Career Averages of 15 points and 6 rebounds
  • Only played more than 50 games twice in 6 seasons
  • Has played for 5 different teams since being drafted
Remember the hype for Jabari in 2014 when there was a Question he should go #1? Well this was valid but ever since the draft his career has slowly went down the hill as far as expectations. We can blame this on injuries but can also blame it on Jabari for not wanting or trying to become a complete player as he has completely ignored playing on defense and apparently never working hard enough on his game.

Jabari was on track to become a star and his 3rd year he averaged 20 and 6 for the bucks but apparently that was the last time a franchise regarded him as a potential star talent.
Now today, Jabari is a player to pick up to score you some points off the bench on a mediocre to bad team. But the saving grace is, Jabari isn’t even 25 yet.

He's lazy and probably jaded too. He got propped up as the nigga too early. Him and wiggins really suffered from the early anointments and not actually doing shit.

I think Jabari can still be a productive NBA player. It looks like he found his niche in ATL.
Also you know he got traded to the kings from ATL right?

played one game for them so far

“Parker logged 15 minutes off the bench in his Sacramento debut Feb. 20 against the Grizzlies, but coach Luke Walton apparently didn't like what he saw from the newly acquired forward. The 24-year-old has failed to leave the bench in three straight games, with his absence from the rotation Thursday being a particularly bad look while three key players (De'Aaron Fox, Richaun Holmes and Marvin Bagley) were sidelined. It's apparent the Kings don't view Parker as part of their near- or long-term plans at this stage.”
