People just love to hate the NBA these days.

This game was incontestably better than recent years.

The biggest problem is that 40 points is not enough. Should be at least 60.

The other serious problem was the long break to honour the TNT crew. Could have been done earlier as others have said.

Another fix is to let the fourth team be players that just missed the cut as far as being an all-star.

If they missed the cut they should not be at the All Star Game

If they try to do a 1 v 1 anything on All Star Sunday where there’s supposed to be a game… it will flop. No one really wants to see that as much as people say they do. Not prime time on a Sunday where they couldn’t even get a four team tournament all the way right.

I’m in favor of doing something like that on Friday or Saturday. Maybe with the Rising Stars and whoever else, but the All Star game needs to go back to being a game. It’s big return to network tv in LA’s new arena… this is gonna be very important and a lot more eyes will be on this one.

If the NBA can’t deliver in that stage next year might as well get rid of the game all together. Stop wasting people’s time.

People love the idea of a one on one, but soon as it hits and Wemby just reaching over Brunson and dunking it from the free throw line, the shit gone crash. Too much size difference.

Now the one on one can be a Saturday night thing where you have a tournament with height limits. Have guards vs guards, wings vs wings, and bigs vs bigs. Just need 4 of each. Don't even need to be all stars.

But don't replace the game with some everyone selected to the all star game has to play one on one. That's a bust

It's kinda funny because I remember people begging for 1v1 games in the 90s. They was talking about having Kobe and Iverson or Shaq and Hakeem play 1v1 on PPV.

East vs West

Reward defense by naming a defensive player of the game. That player should get a trophy and bonus too. Betcha the defensive level picks up.

These are all easy fixes and doesn't mess with the flow of the game.

A few years ago, I was loudly screaming for 1V1 until I sat through a tourney at UNLV. It was terrible and boring. A ton of post backdowns, pulled chairs on defense, pump fakes and extremely contested shots. Not pleasant on the eyes.

The NBA All-Star Game brought a new, tournament-style format—but it wasn’t enough to entice viewers to tune in.

The midseason showcase averaged 4.7 million viewers across TNT platforms, down 13% compared to last year, according to FOS media and entertainment reporter Ryan Glasspiegel. It’s the second-least-watched NBA All-Star Game, ahead only of the 2023 All-Star Game (4.6 million).
