name me 3 food items people should not be able to purchase on E.B.T.?

Of course it’s better health wise to only buy the stuff on the outer perimeter of the store, but what about shelf life? Maybe people at that income level are avoiding stuff that goes bad in a week?

Restricting purchases is the wrong approach to change that

And I don’t actually believe that’s happened to you. You saw what was in their cart and also their method of payment? You visually scanned $800 of groceries without missing anything?

This is an imaginary scenario (a talking point) that keeps getting repeated online

I see it literally the first of every month. I almost always forget that the 1st-5th is when the grocery store shelves around here end up stripped bare so when I inevitably have to go during that time I always have to remind myself "Everybody's food stamps done came in".

I've been in line behind folks just like what @Based Dave 96 is describing: ALL the frozen pizzas, burgers, breakfast sandwiches, etc. ALL the Kraft Mac and Cheese, mad Lil Debbie and Hostess snacks, super sweetened boxes of cereal, and so much other shit but nary a bag of fruit in the cart, not even them apple and orange mixed bags and no fresh veggies at all, not even oatmeal. Might have some canned veggies here and there, but by and large a cart full of bullshit.

And I see it every... single... month.

Tomorrow is the first of June, if I end up going to the store (and I'm pretty sure there's something missing from my dinner plans for tomorrow so I'll have to), I'm guaranteed to see it.

What does that mean to you? You think they’re making different choices than they would with their own money?

Absolutely.

You tend to make different choices when the money ain't free. And, look, we weren't too different the few times we were on it. We made sure we always had fresh vegetables and fruits, healthier foods, and more stuff to cook from scratch as opposed to frozen foods, but my wife wanted lobster tails and crab legs each month, so we got them, even going so far as to say we wouldn't be getting them if it wasn't for the fact that we had EBT.

What you think about the point I made about shelf life? How many healthy foods last a month? How often do you shop when buying healthy? Would weekly payments instead of monthly possibly change purchase habits?

Yall don't think people with food stamps make multiple trips to the grocery store? You seen them that one time and saw nothing healthy. But what of there other trips? Could have been waiting for a particular item to go on sale. I do that often

If you can eat it. You should be able to get that shit on EBT.

I hate y'all

i've seen people(both white& black)spend $800 in e.bt. but the shopping carts don't have any fruit... don't have any water...don't have any vegtables.... it's pathetic. if you ask me.

lol you can’t make people eat healthy bruh. If I’m not one by and I buy cheese and beef and dough mind your damn business
