Welcome To aBlackWeb

Name a rapper that everyone likes but you haven’t gotten into

Griselda camp.

I think it's their beats man, bc I know they can spit. Especially Conway. I loved Conway over the Khrysis-produced track "Machine and McQueen".

But as far as their in-house production, that shit don't move me at all, cuz.

I ain't shittin on em. I actually hope someone sees this and points me to what I'm missin.
It's because they don't use subs or 808s or hard kicks alot.

I fucks with them heavy, but man some of their songs can benefit from it.

Jay z. Dont get me wrong dude is nice. But he ain't all that imo. He definitely ain't top 5 doa. I never understood the hype around him. He is a solid rapper, nuthin more.

Add Kanye to the list for me too. I've always thought he was talented and he definitely has songs that I really like, but every time I venture to actually listen to an album, I always come away wondering why people think they are hands down classics.

I don't get the Max B hype at all (for the older age group)

I don't get the NBA Youngboy or Rod Wave hype at all (for the current age group)

And that Lil Tecca, Lil Tjay niggas are super basic to me, like I don't understand how some of them blow when alot of them dudes be doing the same thing they do, like what separates them from the other SoundCloud dudes?

This. With the exception of Kendrick and KRIT, I don't feel anyone new outside of a few songs here and there. In some cases, it's because the music is wack. In some cases, it's because the particular style just ain't my thing. In some cases, it's because my appetite for rap isn't what it was.

At this point both Kendrick and Krit have more than a decade in the game. They're not new rappers.

I'm not shitting on early Kanye. I like enough of his shit to have a fire ass playlist of his music. I've just never liked any of his albums enough to buy one. Not even back in the day when his music almost universally labelled classic.

Their sound brings that old feeling back

Thing is you have to be a fan of that feeling in the first place to really vibe with them

Raekwon and Ghost
Griselda outside of Benny
Lil Durk

I listened to them all, but don't ever feel like going back and listening to their solo stuff. They have GREAT features in their catalogs. But when I go back to their solo joints, it just don't keep my attention
