The glaive is a dope weapon and it’s my fallback main. It’s what I used in World. Now I use the long sword as my main weapon. I’m working on the bow as my secondary but I want to get dope with something like the hunting horn or switch axe
 
I got this and only had the chance to do the first couple monsters. Been using the gun lance. I used it in mh world for my dragon build but im liking it a bit more in this game. Seems faster. I like how they show you the combos too cuz the last game made you figure those out by yourself unless you spent forever in the training area.

Still plan to try the other weapons though. Insect glaive was dope in last game as well as switch axe. Always wanted to understand the battle horn a bit more but won't try that until I'm playing online a bit
 
Just a lil over an hour left before the update hits.

I’m figuring out which long sword I want as my layered weapon. I wonder if you can make sets using just one weapon but have it use different layers for diff saved gear sets

But yeah, the new monsters are fun to fight. The underwater segment with Lagiacrus is dope. It’s gonna take some getting used to but I enjoyed fighting dude even when we lost.

Seregios is a kung fu fightin some bitch. His spinning drop kick combo is something else. Didn’t get to fight the tempered version yet but I know he’s gonna hit probably as hard as 8* Tempered Gore Magala.
 
The drop rates on Lagiacrus’s sapphire is like 1% from carving. I need 3 of them hoes to craft what I need and I’ve been fighting this dude since last night. I probably killed him like 7 times beteeen last night and this morning and haven’t gotten 1 sapphire yet.
