Melyssa Ford was never the “Queen of the Golden Age” to me, but the slightest possibility of a “buss it open” moment I’ll always get excited for. That being say Ki Toy Johnson will always be my favorite video vixen from back in the day. If you don’t remember her think of the OutKast video “Thr way you move” the head mechanic big boii was talking to. Woooooooooohhhhhhh gawd

Ki-Toy is another one. She is always so deeply associated with the video vixen era, but she only did two videos.... both of them as a favor to her brother-in-law.

I think she might have done a third video later, can't remember. But just like Melyssa, she was never really a professional video hoe. She just dabbled briefly and moved on with her life.

True. My thing is this and excuse my ignorance on this part. Seeing as to how these woman are still talked about today with only doing 2 to 3 videos doesn’t that speak for itself vs the woman who are in countless videos and shit speaking for myself I can’t even remember them.

They're talked about for the fact that they came out early before the game got saturated with hoes and they were given ample spotlight by the men's magazines of the time like Black Men Magazine (this was before there was even King or Smooth). So they have name recognition. There's only a few of those girls that the average normie knows by name--Melyssa Ford, Buffy the Body, Ki-Toy Johnson, Esther Baxter.

But there were a ton of chicks even badder than them that did loads of videos but they don't get talked about as much because most folks just don't know their names. You can say "The chick from Nelly's 'Get Your Eagle On' vid" but that just doesn't ring bells the same way.
